The 45S fusion splicer, the latest in the range, is based on active sheath alignment technology, ensuring unrivalled speed, versatility and repeatability.
Operations such as fibre preparation, stripping, cleaving and insertion into the sealer require separate steps for left- and right-side fibres. However, the 45S process simplifies this by allowing simultaneous preparation thanks to the new SS05 stripper, the improved AD16 fibre guide for the CT50 cleaver, and the 45S's ingenious fibre holder mechanism.
In addition, the 45S features a mechanism that links the windscreen to the fixed supports, so that opening the windscreen automatically opens the fixed supports. It is also equipped with retention clamps, similar to those on our top-of-the-range heart-to-heart model, which prevent fibres from jumping out after the fixed supports have been opened. These mechanisms work in tandem to simplify fibre handling and reduce the time required for transfer to the oven.
